Obituary of Olin M. Everritt

Olin M. Bud Everritt, age 78, of Tioga, PA, died on Thursday, November 18, 2010 at his home following a courageous battle with cancer with his loving family by his side. Born on July 16, 1932 in Bath, NY, Olin was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Seward Everritt. He and his wife, Christine (Ryea) Everritt celebrated their 39th wedding anniversary on March 6, 2010. Olin retired with 20 years of service with the U.S. Army earning the rank of Sergeant First Class. During this service he received a Certificate of Achievement for outstanding service for his involvement in the establishment and operation of the special security detachment in support of operations group. Following his military service, Olin was employed as a utility person with Halls Homes. He enjoyed hunting, gardening, flowers and sitting on his front porch watching nature. In addition to his wife, Christine, Olin is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Tom Rotsell of Tioga, PA; a step-son and daughter-in-law, Brady and Sally Miller of Winsted, CT; a step-daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen and Robert Ratches of Roseville, PA; a brother, David Everritt of Bath, NY; 11 grandchildren: Tammy Rieppel, Shawn Williams, Angila Arnold, Erica Buchanan, Lorrin Cummings, William Laser, Charles Miller, Elizabeth Miller, Jennifer Brown, Deborah Barta, Amy Smalley; 22 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. He was predeceased by a daughter, Penny Williams in 1985; two brothers, Bob and George and a sister, Velma. Family and friends are invited to call on Sunday, November 21, 2010 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Monday, November 22, 2010 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Jacquelyn A. Buckheit Funeral Chapel, Crematory & Monuments, PC, 637 S. Main Street, Mansfield, PA. A funeral service will be held immediately following calling hours at 11:00 AM at the funeral home on Monday with Rev. Allen Hulslander officiating. Memorial contributions may be made in Olins name to Laurel Home Health & Hospice, 24 Walnut Street, Wellsboro, PA 16901 and the Tioga Fire Department, Tioga, PA 16946.
