Obituary of Peggy Blanchard

Peggy J. (Dyke) Blanchard, 61 passed away on Friday, April 23, 2010 at her residence surrounded by her family and friends. Peggy was born September 1, 1948 in Blossburg, PA, the daughter of Durward and Leona Mae Dyke. She and her family moved from Wellsboro, PA to Glennville, GA in 1985 where she retired from the Rotary Corporation in 2008. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Peggy enjoyed writing recipies, letters and cards to family and friends and caring for her cat, Midnight. She was a devoted member of the Little Rock Baptist Church. Peggy is survived by her husband of 33 years, James A. Jim Blanchard of Glennville, GA; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Jamie and Lindy Blanchard of Glennville, GA, Carl Merrick of Hinesville, GA, Jeff Merrick of Savannah, GA; an adopted daughter, Jennifer Robb of Glennville, GA; two sisters, Frances Jayne of Mansfield, PA, Patricia Gerow of Morris Run, PA; 9 grandchildren; Jamie Blanchard, II, Alex Dean, Elizabeth Manly, Kaitlyn Dean, William Manly, Robert Blanchard, Brandon Blanchard, Sebastian Merrick, Ian Merrick and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Durward and Leona Mae Dyke; two sisters; Mary Spencer, Florence Dyke and three brothers, Colie Dyke, Durward Dyke, Jr. and Robert Dyke. Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday, April 29, 2010 from 10 AM to 11AM at the Jacquelyn A. Buckheit Funeral Chapel, Crematory & Monuments, PC 637 South Main Street, Mansfield, PA. A funeral service will be held immediately following calling hours at 11 AM at the funeral home with the Rev. William Shepherd officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Peggys name to the Little Rock Baptist Church, PO Box 487, Glennville, GA, 30427.
