Obituary of Ellen Elizabeth Davis

Ellen Elizabeth Davis, age 99, of Wellsboro, PA, formerly of North Carolina and California, died Sunday, August 22, 2010 at Broad Acres Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Wellsboro, PA. Ellen was born January 26, 1911 in Nowata, OK, a daughter of Walter and Lucinda Mae (Pollard) Thomas. She was the wife of the late Oscar Hartford Davis. Ellen was a member of the Assembly of God Church. She enjoyed traveling, sewing, cooking, entertaining and being a member of the P.T.A. Ellen is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Thomas Hartford (Odelphia) Davis of Oakdale, CA; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Flodie Helen (Wallace) Copp of Wellsboro, PA, Carol (John) Abernathy of Harmony, NC, Wilma Jean Wright of Hilmar, CA; 19 grandchildren; many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Ellen was predeceased by her husband, Oscar; a daughter, Joan Koehn; and two sisters, Lahoma Brown and Dixie Roberts. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 26, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at the Jacquelyn A. Buckheit Funeral Chapel, Crematory & Monuments, PC, 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA with Pastor John Abernathy officiating. Burial will be in Tioga County Memorial Gardens, Charleston Twp.
