Obituary of Franklin Edward Gregory

Franklin Edward Gregory, age 86, of Liberty, PA, died Saturday, March 26, 2011 at Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital, Wellsboro, PA. Franklin was born February 28, 1925 in Blossburg, PA, a son of Raymond and Emma (Heyler) Gregory. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Elizabeth (Hollenbeck) Gregory in late September, 1971. He graduated from Liberty High School in 1943 and from the General Motors Institute, Flint, Michigan in 1950. Franklin was a retired auto mechanic, loved NASCAR, drag racing, hunting, baseball, bowling and football. He was a Army Air Force veteran serving with the 56th Air Engineer Squadron in the South Pacific Theater. Franklin is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Tommy F. and Mary Gregory of Trout Run, PA, Alan B. and Melodee Gregory of Liberty, PA, Mark E. and Cheryl Gregory of Bethel, PA; 7 grandchildren, Jonah, Micah, Jonathan, Jess, Tracy, Tyler and Courtney; 3 great grandchildren, Elise, Gabriella and Solomon. Franklin was predeceased by his wife, Elizabeth, a brother, Dean Gregory, and a sister, Kathryn Heyd. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at Salem Lutheran Cemetery, Nauvoo, PA with Pastor Tom Harmic officiating.
