Obituary of Elaine D. Farr

Elaine D. Farr, age 90, died Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at Founders Pavilion in Corning, NY. Elaine was born July 9, 1921 in Knoxville, PA, a daughter of Lynn W. and Emma (Bellows) Doan. She was predeceased by her husband, James E. Farr, in 1979. She was a member of the Knoxville United Methodist Church and enjoyed taking care of children. Elaine was a buyer for the Childrens Department at Rockwells in Corning, NY for 35 years. Elaine is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Craig and Rebecca Farr of Sommerville, NC, Glenn and Diane Farr of Big Flats, NY; a daughter, Pamela McIntosh of Lawrenceville, PA; 9 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 1 great step-grandchild. She was predeceased by her husband, James, a granddaughter, Jennifer Farr Powell, and a brother, Reed Doan. A private memorial service will be held by the family at a later date. The Jacquelyn A.
