Obituary of Maureen M. Nielsen

Maureen M. Nielsen, age 94, of Tioga, PA, died Friday, February 24, 2012 at the Green Home, Wellsboro, PA. Maureen was born September 6, 1917 in Elphin, Ireland, a daughter of Joseph and Margaret (Cummings) Furey. She was the widow of Henry Nielsen who passed away in 1975. Maureen was a registered nurse and had been employed by Muhlenberg Hospital in NJ until she retired. Maureen is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Niels and Jackie Nielsen of Spring, TX, Norman Nielsen of Tioga, PA; three grandchildren, Chris, Jonathan and Matthew Nielsen; a brother and sister-in-law, John and Mary Ann Furey of Sarasota, FL. She was predeceased by her husband, Henry, a sister, Therese, and three brothers, Joe, Eugene and Chris. Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, February 29, 2012 from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. at the Bradley-Broviak Funeral Home, 49 Whippany Road, Whippany, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, March 1, 2012 at Notre Dame of Mt. Carmel Church with Father Jude Salus as celebrant. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
