Obituary of Gary B. Bates

Gary B. Bates, age 41, of Lawrenceville, PA, died on Saturday, December 8, 2012 at his home. Born on March 26, 1971 in Blossburg, PA, he was the son of Barry R. and Brenda A. (Whiteman) Bates of Tioga, PA. He was married to Amanda (McConnell) Bates. Previously, Gary was employed as a laborer with Anchor Glass. He loved spending time with his boys. Gary was an avid hunter, sportsman, fisherman and enjoyed archery and making hunting videos. In addition to his parents, Barry and Brenda Bates and his wife, Amanda, he is survived by two sons, Kryshtian Bates, Kaedin Burnett; one brother and sister-in-law, Ryan and Traci Bates of Elkland, PA; one sister, Fawn (Danny Janecek) Bates of Washington, Iowa; a half brother, Chad Wilson; two half sisters and brother-in-law, Amy and Brad Robinson of Lawrenceville, PA, Missy Wilson of Lawrenceville, PA; maternal grandmother, Dorothy Beecham of Arizona; paternal grandmother, Veronica Griffiths of Wellsboro, PA; 13 nieces and nephews: Brett, Joel, Emily and Taylor Bates, Jordyn and Jasmine Perry, Daydrian Gilbert, Gavyn Kohl, Hunter Wilson, Dalton Mortimer, Brock and Noah Robinson. Gary was predeceased by his biological father, Gary Wilson; paternal grandfather, Richard Bates, paternal grandmother, Ella Jacobson and maternal grandfather, Joseph Haberly. Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, December 12, 2012 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 637 South Main Street, Mansfield, PA. A funeral service will be held immediately following calling hours at 7:00 PM at the funeral chapel with Pastor Harry Colegrove and Pastor Bob Burkett officiating.
