Obituary of Viola Evans

Viola (Hoffman) Evans, age 69, of Tioga, PA, died peacefully, with her loving family and friends by her side, on Friday, January 4, 2013 in Arnot Ogden Medical Center, Elmira, NY, after a courageous 3 year battle with lung cancer. Viola was born on April 17, 1943 in Renova, PA, the daughter of Clyde and Alice (Reeser) Hoffman. She and her late husband, Marshall E. Evans, were owners of Valley Cove Corp. in Tioga, PA. Viola enjoyed traveling and doing crossword puzzles. Viola is survived by two daughters, Karen Ford of Dundee, NY, Suzanne (Michael) Savino of Lafayette, LA; one son, John Young of FL; two step sons, Jim (Tammie) Evans of Lawrenceville, PA, Keith Evans of Lawrenceville, PA; one step daughter, Susan (Ken) Pilgrim of Okeechobee, FL; sisters; Diane Baldick, Wanda Kingsley and Donna Cornell; sister-in-law, Becky Hoffman; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; loving and devoted friends, Kevin and Pam Costley of Lawrenceville, PA; and her feline companion, Missy. In addition to her husband, Marshall, who died December 5, 2009, she was predeceased by a stepson, Thomas Evans in 1995; three brothers, Clyde, Jr., Stanley and James Hoffman; a sister, Evelyn Jane Johnson..
