Obituary of Charles Harding

Charles "Jake" Harding, age 80, of Covington, PA, died on Thursday, March 28, 2013 in Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital, Wellsboro, PA. Born on April 15, 1932 in Blossburg, PA, he was the son of Walter Raymond and Millicent (Swanson) Harding. Prior to his retirement, Jake was employed as a heavy equipment operator for 34 years with the PA Department of Transportation. Jake enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing Euchre and pull tickets at the VFW. Jake is survived by three sons and a daughter-in-law, Gregory and Debbie Harding of Mainesburg, PA, Charles "Chip" Harding, Jr. of Wellsboro, PA, Michael Harding of Wellsboro, PA; two daughters and a son-in-law, Lisa Moyer of Hamburg, PA, Pamela and Mark Rose of CA; two sisters, Frances Bogaczyk of Mansfield, PA, Lillian Larrison of Mansfield, PA; former wife and mother of his children, Bernita Tipple of Blossburg; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Jake was predeceased by two sisters, Blanche Sweeney, Clara Evans and three brothers, Callie, Fred and Martin Harding. Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA. A memorial service will be held immediately following calling hours at 8:00 PM.
