Obituary of James W. Finnerty

James W. Finnerty, age 77, of Tioga, PA, passed away April 20, 2013 at his home surrounded by his loving wife and family. James was born January 14, 1936 in Elkland, PA, a son of Charles and Iva (Westmiller) Finnerty. He was the husband of Brenda (Rice) Finnerty and would have celebrated 40 years of marriage on July 22th. James had been employed at Walmart as a cashier and greeter. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran having served during the Korean War. James enjoyed bowling, building model trains, lawn work, gardening, camping, motorcycling, and was a member of the Canyon Riders Motorcycle Group. James is survived by his wife, Brenda; 3 sons and daughters-in-law, James and Joyce Finnerty, Jr. of Mooresville, NC, Zachary and Kathy Finnerty of Mooresville, NC, Patrick Finnerty of Woodhull, NY; 2 step-sons, Gordon (Reta) Mays of Bridgeport, WV, Timmothy Mays of Covington, PA; 4 daughters and sons-in-law, Diana ?Sis? Jeffers, Maleea and Steve LesKevon of Woodhull, NY, Shannon and Blaine Conrad of Mansfield, PA, Jewel Finnerty of Lakeland, FL; 3 step daughters, Roxanne (Tom) Allen of Nelson, PA, Michelle Briggs of Tioga, PA, Kathy Rhoades of Sacramento, CA; 41 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Nola Reams of Knoxville, PA. He was predeceased by 2 sisters, Evalena and Peggy and 3 brothers, John, Ed and Dick. Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. and Thursday, April 25, 2013 from 2:00 to 3:00 P.M. at the Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA. Funeral services will follow calling hours on Thursday at 3:00 P.M. at the funeral chapel with Rev. Jonathon West officiating.
