Obituary of Jean Marie Slater

Jean Marie (Bartlett) Slater, age 70, went to be with her Lord and Savior, with her family by her side, on Thursday, July 11, 2013. She was born in Tioga County, PA on April 7, 1943. Her parents were Ernest A. Bartlett and Dorotha (Wilcox) Bartlett. She loved watching her grandchildren; was a member of College Acres Baptist Church, and the Red Hat Society. She was an avid reader, and loved everyone she met. The last two years of her life were spent at Davis Health Care Center in Wilmington, NC. Jean was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Marian Hager, Winifred Bartlett, and Elizabeth Jones. Jean is survived by her daughter, Patricia (Slater) Reeves, husband, Chad Reeves, and three grandsons, Carson, Jacson and Anderson of Wilmington, NC; her two sons, Nick Humphrey, wife, Jennifer Humphrey, and four grandchildren, Elizabeth, William, Alexa and Dylan of Woodbridge, VA, and Jason Slater and fiance?, Ashton Keith of Syracuse, NY; two sisters, Norene Burrows of Wellsboro, PA and Ernestine Boom of Lawrenceville, PA; two brothers, Carl Bartlett of Lawrenceville, PA and David Bartlett and wife, Kay, of Millerton, PA; several nieces, nephews and cousins. A celebration of life ceremony will be held for her family and friends in PA at Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA on Friday, July 19th, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. with visitation from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M.
