Obituary of Jack L. Sackett

Jackie Lee "Jack" Sackett, age 75, of Tioga, PA, passed away on Saturday, August 10, 2013 at the Samaritan House, Wellsboro, PA after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born May 27, 1938 in Hornell, NY, a son of Warren and Gladys M. (Bacon) Sackett. Jack worked as a machinist at Dresser Rand until he retired. He was a member of the Tioga Fire Department. Jack enjoyed mowing, hunting, fishing, gardening, chatting with family and friends, tinkering, cutting wood, arm wrestling with his co-workers, being a jokester and when he was able, helping the elderly in the neighborhood. Jack is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Jeanette and Joe Mitchell of Millerton, PA, Jacquelyn "Jackie" and Dave Buckheit of Mansfield, PA; 2 sons and a daughter-in-law, Jack "Buddy" and Heather Sackett of Tioga, PA, Jason Sackett; 10 grandchildren, Molly, Alyse, Garrett, Alexa, Jourdyn, Hunter, Brock, Chrystal, Crosby and Felicity; 2 great grandchildren, Olivia and Angie; a brother, Fred Flurschutz; 2 sisters and brothers-in-law, Joan and Gene Cady of Hornell, NY, Marilyn and Richard Muhollen of Hornell, NY; several half-brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews, a special friend, Patricia Kennedy. Jack was predeceased by a brother, Ozzie Woodworth, a sister, Dorothy Rectenwald, and a special man, Ed Fish. Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, August 14, 2013 from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M at Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA. Funeral services will follow at 6:00 P.M. at the funeral chapel with Pastor Debbie Button officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Tioga, PA.
