Obituary of Harold O. Bartlett

Harold O. "Hobby" Bartlett, Sr., age 93, of Tioga, PA, died Monday, September 2, 2013 at Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital, Wellsboro, PA. Harold was born October 28, 1919 in Tioga, PA, a son of Frank and Myrle (Osborne) Bartlett. He and his wife, Harriett (Brass) Bartlett, celebrated 72 years of marriage. He was a machinist at Ingersoll Rand until his retirement. Harold was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church, Tioga, PA; the American Legion, Tioga, PA; assisted in founding the Tioga Fire Department; enjoyed fishing, hunting, work, spending time with his family, socializing and roller skating. He was a WWII Army veteran. Harold is survived by his wife, Harriet; a son and daughter-in-law, Harold "Hobby" and Marj (Hartman) Bartlett of Tioga, PA; 3 daughters and sons-in-law, Helen Bradshaw of Austin, TX, Fred Lamoreaux of Austin, TX, Al Racheck of Binghamton, NY, Shirley and Robert Sullivan of Avon, CT, Joanne Saylor-Lowe of Elmira, NY; 12 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Catherine Shertz of Canton, PA. Harold was predeceased by a daughter, Norma Racheck in 1997 and two brothers, Ronald and Dee Bartlett. Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday, September 5, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. and Friday, September 6, 2013 from 9:30 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. at Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10:00 A.M. at the funeral home with Pastor Debbie Button officiating. Military honors will be presented by the Tioga County Honor Guard. Burial will be in Beech Flats Cemetery, Canton Twp.
