Obituary of Claude Richard Rice

Richard C. Rice, age 83, of Lawrenceville, PA, died on Monday, September 23, 2013 in the Corning Hospital, Corning, NY. Born on February 11, 1930 in Wellsboro, PA, he was the son of Claude Clinton Rice and Marguerite (Cole) Kyler. Richard and his wife, Anna Belle (Fisher) Rice, celebrated 63 years of marriage. Prior to his retirement, Richard was employed for 40 years as a truck driver with Corning Glass Works, Inc. He enjoyed travelling. In addition to his wife, Anna Belle, Richard is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Richard Russell and CeCe Rice of Anderson, SC; a daughter and son-in-law, Susan Maria and Raymond Criss of Millerton, PA; a brother, Robert Russell Rice of Bloomsburg, PA; two sisters, Evelyn Leonard of Columbia Crossroads, PA, Beverly McMullen of Morrisdale, PA; three grandchildren, Jeffrey, Joshua and Ashlee, and four great grandchildren. Richard was predeceased by his parents, a grandson, Christopher Rice, and a sister, Alberta Bronson. In keeping with Richard's wishes, there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Arnot Health Dialysis Center, 8 W. Pulteney St., Corning, NY 14830. Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 637 S.
