Obituary of Mary Edna Slater

Mary Edna Slater, age 85, of Mansfield, PA, died Thursday, August 4, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. She was born April 28, 1931 in Dushore, PA, a daughter of Nathan and Mary (Horutz) Adams. Mary was married to Clifford M. Slater for 62 years before his passing in 2012. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Mansfield, PA. Mary was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, enjoyed gardening and was an excellent cook. Mary is survived by 4 sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Susan Slater of Nichols, NY, Mike Slater of Lowman, NY, Danny Slater of Wellsboro, PA, Matt (Sheri Kibbe) Slater of Mansfield, PA; 3 daughters, Mary Lorraine and John Pollock of Mainesburg, PA, Cindy and Mark Johnson of Newnan, GA, Barb and Frank Sargent of Mansfield, PA; 3 sisters, Rose (Donald) Miller of Wysox, PA, Carol Barber, Melinda Fitzgerald of Dushore, PA; 17 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother, Nathan Adams; a sister, Katie Raub; infant daughter, Angel Slater. A private service will be held at Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA. Please join the family in Mary Slater's honor at Partners In Progress, 332 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA on Tuesday evening, August 9th, 2016 at 7:00 P.M.
