Obituary of Donnalea Jacoby

Donnalea Van Pelt Jacoby, age 74 of Mansfield, passed away on Monday, October 3, 2016. She was born to the late Frederick Van Pelt and Bertha Ebner Van Pelt on September 6, 1942 in Berwick, PA. Donnalea attended Southern Columbia High School, before attending Bloomsburg University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Social Studies Education. During her time at university, she was very involved in the theater department. She began her teaching career in Steelton-Highspire School District where she was a beloved teacher and theater director. "Miss VP" was a very popular honored guest at many class reunions. She continued her teaching career at Mansfield Jr. Sr. High School where she taught Social Studies and Student Council Advisor. Family and her "Kids" were her passion and delight. In her younger days, she enjoyed spending summers on vacation with her late brother, Rodney, and her nieces and nephews. More recently, she loved spending time with her grandchildren Jonah, Daniel and Amelia and being "Grammy" was her favorite role. Donnalea is survived by her husband Lloyd (Skip) Jacoby, her two children Heather Jacoby Yacovissi and Jonathan Jacoby, her daughter-in-law Rachel Krouse Jacoby, and her grandchildren Jonah Yacovissi and Daniel and Amelia Jacoby. The family wishes to thank all of those who cared for her during her last illness.
