Obituary of Edna E. Atwell

Edna E. Atwell, age 93, formerly of Westfield, PA, died Thursday, January 5, 2017 at Broad Acres Health and Rehabilitation Center, Wellsboro, PA. She was born May 15, 1923 in Lawrenceville, PA, a daughter of William and Catherine (Fries) Brown. Edna was the wife of the late Floyd Atwell, Jr. who passed away in 1966. Edna worked at Metamora, Westfield Elementary Schools, and Galeton Production before she retired. She enjoyed her grandchildren, cats, doing puzzles, and working crosswords. Edna is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Richard Atwell of Covington, PA, Daniel and Guangyu Atwell of Westfield, PA; a daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Lloyd Brooks of Westfield, PA; five grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; 1 great great granddaughter. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by three sisters, Martha McLaughlin, Bessie Brown and Elsie Brown; a brother, Leo Brown; a daughter-in-law, Valie Atwell. Services will be private at the family's convenience. Memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Care Sanctuary, 11765 Rte. 6, Wellsboro, PA 16901 in Edna's memory.
