Obituary of David E. Rice Sr.

David E. Rice, Sr., age 72, of Tioga, PA, passed away on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at his home. He was born on March 12, 1951, in Elmira, NY, the son of Edward and Gwendolyn (Cleveland) Rice. David was a life insurance agent and a veteran of the United States Army having served during the Vietnam war. He enjoyed bowling. David is survived by his son, David (Amanda) Rice, Jr. of Belton, TX; six grandchildren, Melina Rice, Brandon Rice, Devin Rice, Taylor Button, Kaitlyn Button, and Jordan Wendel; a great grandchild, Sebastian Button; two sisters, Brenda Finnerty of Osceola, PA, and Cheryl Hall of Wellsboro, PA; a brother-in-law, Donald Jones. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Sandra Jones. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at 2 PM at Canoe Camp Church of Christ 1103 S. Main St. Mansfield, PA with Pastor Calvin Yoder officiating. Burial will take place in Bath National Cemetery in Bath, NY.
