Deborah Scott

Obituary of Deborah Ellen Scott

Deborah Ellen (Davis) Scott 12/02/59 - 04/24/2024 Debbie was born and raised in Maryland. She attended King's College in New York. In 1980, she met and married Jim and settled in Blossburg, PA. She worked in banking and finished her career as Vice President at Citizens and Northern Bank and head of the Trust Department. Debbie was an estate and planning tax expert. Despite an abundance of accomplishments in her career, she had three real passions. Family - Debbie was a proud mother to Katie (Hanway Yang) and Jesse (Aubrey Zbikowski). Katie has invested much of her life in recent years in making Debbie's life easier after she moved to Boston. Debbie was a loving grandmother and thoroughly enjoyed being a part of her grandchildren's lives. She loved to hear about Mia's swim meets (she attended when she could) and her new-found loves of travel and photography. She was also grateful for any opportunity to watch Isaiah compete on the soccer pitch and see his sweet spirit demonstrated around the Artisan. FaceTime with Evie and James lit up her days. Evie's singing was a highlight. It gave her great joy to read them stories when they were in town. Debbie is survived by two sisters; Faye Dean (Belvidere, NJ) and Beckie Kiddoo (Solihull, England). Debbie spoke with them regularly and enjoyed following the lives of her nieces and nephews and their families. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Marianne Scott (Westborough, MA). Football - Wheaton Thunder Football has lost their greatest fan, although we suspect she will be cheering from heaven come September. Debbie and Jim regularly made the 1200 mile round trip to Wheaton when Jesse played. Her support never wavered as Jesse continues at Wheaton as Head Coach. Faith - Debbie is now completely whole in the presence of the God she loved and served. Debbie was a good person, but she would say that is not why she's in heaven. The death of Jesus on the cross gives everyone the opportunity to seek forgiveness and have a relationship with him. She would readily say that the only way she could keep going was through God's strength. He never failed her and welcomed her home on April 24, 2024. We will miss you, Debbie. Thank you for a life well lived. Until we meet again . . . A memorial service will be held at Covington Baptist Church, Covington, PA at 11:30AM on Monday, June 3rd.
